【BAU 2025】ミュンヘンの巨大展示会を歩く！

ドイツ到着後、真っ先に向かったのが「BAU 2025」。 世界各国の建材メーカーが一堂に会するこの展示会では、各社が最先端の建材や建築技術を披露していました。 弊社代表・嶺島は、気になるブースを巡りながら、素材や性能について確認。 同行してくれた旅の付添人・ワタリさん。現地のスタッフともスムーズにコミュニケーションが取れました。

 

ドイツの劇場を視察、音響設計のヒントを得る

展示会後には、現地の劇場も視察。 クラシカルで荘厳な内装の中で響く音に、音響設計の重要性と奥深さを再確認しました。 劇場の構造や素材の使い方からも、多くの学びがありました。

 

インテリアの潮流を探る「Heimtextil Frankfurt」

さらに足を運んだのは、世界最大のホームテキスタイル展示会「Heimtextil Frankfurt」。 ここでは、植物モチーフやナチュラルカラーを中心とした、ヨーロッパの最新インテリアトレンドが見られました。 空間演出の観点でも参考になる展示が多く、建材とインテリアの調和を意識するきっかけとなりました。

 

建築音響の可能性を広げる、VOGL社を訪問

今回のドイツ視察で特に印象的だったのが、天井吸音システムで世界的に知られる「VOGL Deckensysteme GmbH」の現地訪問です。 ミュンヘンから車を走らせ、ドイツの郊外にある本社・工場に到着すると、まず驚かされたのがそのスケールの大きさ。広大な敷地に、近未来的なデザインの建物が印象的でした。 工場内では、吸音・拡散に特化した天井材の製造工程や、実際の施工シーンを映像で紹介していただき、非常に実践的な内容でした。 スタッフの方が施工方法をアクティブに解説してくれたおかげで、VOGL製品の強みや可能性を深く理解することができました。 また、元社長が所有するレアな車コレクションも見学させていただき、ドイツらしい「クラフトマンシップ」の精神を随所に感じるひとときとなりました。 彼らの“製品へのこだわり”が、こうした美意識や情熱と直結しているのだと実感しました。

 

サステナブルな防音素材を追求するKRAIBURG社も視察

また、防音・振動制御において高い品質を誇る「KRAIBURG」社も訪問。合成ゴムやエラストマーを使った防音製品を多数開発しており、その多くが再生素材を活用しています。 実際に訪れた工場では、大量のリサイクル素材（使用済みの靴のソールなど）を使った製品群や、さまざまな納入事例を拝見しました。 環境配慮と高性能の両立を図る彼らの姿勢は、今後の防音素材開発にも大きなヒントになると感じています。

 

ヨーロッパの現場で触れた技術や素材、そして音響空間の設計に対する感覚。 今回得た知見を、今後の製品づくりや空間提案にしっかり活かしていきたいと思います。

Infiltrating the World’s Largest Building Materials Fair “BAU 2025”!
On-site Report on the Latest Trends in Soundproofing and Acoustics

We visited BAU 2025, one of the world’s largest building and construction trade fairs, held in Munich, Germany. With the goal of exploring the latest trends in soundproofing and acoustics, we walked the halls and took in the cutting-edge materials and technologies firsthand. [BAU 2025] Walking Through Munich’s Massive Expo

Our first destination upon arriving in Germany was, of course, BAU 2025. At this massive event, leading building material manufacturers from around the world showcased their most advanced materials and construction technologies. Our CEO, Mr. Mineshima, visited various booths to examine materials and performance firsthand. With the help of our travel companion Mr. Watari, we were also able to communicate smoothly with local staff members.

 

Visiting a German Theater to Explore Acoustic Design

Following the expo, we took the opportunity to visit a local theater. The way sound resonated within its classical, majestic interior reminded us just how critical and profound acoustic design truly is. We came away with valuable insights from both the architectural structure and the creative use of materials.

 

Tracking Interior Trends at Heimtextil Frankfurt

Next, we headed to Heimtextil Frankfurt, the world’s largest trade fair for home and interior textiles. There, we observed the latest European trends in interior design, including plant motifs and natural color palettes. The many exhibits focused on spatial expression offered inspiration on how to harmonize interior design with building materials.

 

Exploring the Possibilities of Architectural Acoustics at VOGL

A highlight of the trip was visiting VOGL Deckensysteme GmbH, a global leader in ceiling sound absorption systems. After a drive from Munich to their headquarters and factory located in the German countryside, we were immediately impressed by the scale and futuristic design of the facility.

Inside the factory, we viewed the production process of VOGL’s ceiling panels—designed specifically for sound absorption and diffusion—as well as video demonstrations of real installation cases. Thanks to active explanations from their staff, we gained a deep understanding of what makes VOGL’s products so unique and powerful.

We were also given a rare look at the founder’s personal collection of vintage automobiles, giving us a vivid impression of the German spirit of craftsmanship. It became clear that their meticulous attention to detail in product development is deeply rooted in such aesthetic and passionate values.

 

Site Visit to KRAIBURG: Pursuing Sustainable Soundproofing

We also had the opportunity to visit KRAIBURG, a company known for its high-performance noise and vibration control solutions. They develop a wide range of soundproofing products using synthetic rubber and elastomers, many of which are made from recycled materials.

At their facility, we observed a variety of product lines utilizing recycled content—such as used shoe soles—and learned about multiple real-world installation cases. Their approach, which balances environmental responsibility with performance, offers valuable insight for the future of sustainable soundproofing material development.

The technologies, materials, and spatial acoustic sensibilities we encountered across Europe have expanded our vision for what is possible. We are committed to applying these insights in our future product development and space design proposals.
